Hourly Training

• Direct, coach, and develop an hourly workforce with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to their position and “why” we are doing these tasks
• Improve hourly employee performance and production by conducting training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, new procedural training
• Ensure hourly workforce is trained how to follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), MOPs (Manufacturing Operating Procedures), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and Safety programs RedZone-Initiatives, Kaizens & DLMP’s
• Implement a formal “Train-the-Trainer” program and certification
• Identify employees who are the subject matter experts in each department/shift
• Audit trainers to ensure that they are following all areas including Safety, Food Safety, and Quality

Training Metrics

• Communicate and review hourly training objectives regularly to the management team to ensure plant objectives are accomplished
• Measure and audit the progress of Kaizen and 5S projects
• Measure the progress of training through audits of trainers and trainees. Ensure that the training matrix is updated in a timely manner
• Regularly conduct audits on all hourly employees and training matrices
• Ensure the matrix is updated in a timely manner
• Deliver training in a manner that promotes individual employee engagement and learning
• Identify and communicate barriers to learning and engagement to the management team

Manufacturing Support

• Maintain and update all Standard Work / Manufacturing Operating Procedures resource materials with an emphasis on training documents and tools for teaching proper steps
• Create documentation on correct processes or “new knowledge” to ensure a stable and efficient operation
• Develop knowledge and capability in production, EHS, quality and, food safety
• Assist in Kaizen Events and 5S projects
• Assist with testing new processes, products, or procedures
• Promote and reinforce LOF Core Values and culture at all levels

EXPERIENCE 2 + plant operations experience and/or training experience
EDUCATION Associate degree in training & development, business, food, or meat science preferred
KNOWLEDGE Food plant operations, and/or training and development
TRAVEL Local and or overnight travel is required this percentage of time 10%
