OUTBOUND SHIPMENTS

  • Worrk closely with trafficking, brokers and customer cervice to meet OTIF ( On Time In Full) goals insuring the expected product has been delivered as requested by the customer.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are properly packaged, labeled, marked, placarded and meet or exceed Department of Transportation Regulations.
  • Oversee the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality
  • Responsible for OSD tracking (Overages, Shortages, and Damaged)
  • Work closely with samples team in order to send product to our sales team.
  • Ensure the quality of the product is conforming to the required level and cleared by Quality Assurance and HACCP guidelines.

WAREHOUSE TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to all food safety, employee safety, employee culture, and quality programs.
  • Supervise receiving and shipping operations, shift, and or other related functions by working toward process improvements, communicating changes, status updates, monitoring quality and safety standards, and taking the lead in challenging situations.
  • Communicate and review plant/department objectives regularly with an hourly workforce.
  • Facilitate transitions between shifts and seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and management.
  • Participate in the interview process with new candidates.
  • Take an active role in the onboarding of new hires, including ensuring that training is complete to a satisfactory level.
  • Promote and reinforce LOF Core Values and culture with an hourly workforce.
  • Work toward improving hourly Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Manage day to day activities of warehouse personnel (Lead, stagers, truck loaders, and drop zone attendant) ensuring that the safety standards for OSHA, EHS and productivity are always the focus.
  • Responsible for workflow throughout the warehouse, consistently keeping safety, santitation, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction in line with department goals.

INVENTORY CONTROL

  • Oversee inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation and record keeping
  • Supervise and coordinate the most efficient loading of outbound shipments leaving the facility.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIRED: Process Oriented

  • Understands the manufacturing business as a system that integrates multiple disciplines, processes, and stakeholders.

  • Notices symptoms of process problems and shows good judgment as to the proper action to remedy the problems.
  • Supports and develops manufacturing process design and development.
  • Monitors manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Proactively demonstrates a passion for deepening knowledge of Land O’ Frost manufacturing capabilities and advantages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in meat science, food science, business administration, operations management, or a related field or related field preferred.
  • Will accept minimum of 4 years of meat processing/ food industry experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience achieving positive results thru other team members.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferred

Local and/or overnight travel is required 25% of the time.
