Tater tots are a staple at dinnertime because they’re easy to make, my kids love them and I like to think I’m kind of sneaking another vegetable into the meal without my kids even knowing it!
Lately, I’ve been seeing tater tots on restaurant menus with all sorts of toppings and dipping sauces, so I started wondering: How can I take tots to the next level?
I didn’t have to wonder very long, because the interwebs are chock-full of recipes for tater tottery goodness! These seven recipes are actual full meals revolving around tater tots, and your family is going to love them.
Bake the tots first in a baking dish so that they’re super crispy, then layer them with a mixture of cream cheese, shredded cheddar, seeded and chopped jalapenos, crumbled cooked bacon and chopped rotisserie chicken. Bake until piping hot, and serve this deliciousness quick while they’re hot and crispy!

This recipe has the added benefit of being easier than lasagna because you don’t have to mess around with the noodles.
Simply follow the steps as you would for regular lasagna: Make your meat sauce and ricotta/egg/mozzarella/parmesan mixture, then layer in a baking dish using the tots instead of noodles!

My kids love grilled cheese, so incorporating tots into this classic sandwich is a no-brainer!
The sausage might be a little too spicy for them, so I may portion the ground chorizo for just my husband and me, but if your kids like to turn up the heat, go for it.

This recipe from The Spruce could not be any easier! Just layer baked beans in the bottom of a casserole dish with sliced hot dogs (or substitute with Land O’Frost Little Smokies for a smoked flavor kick), then add mustard and frozen tater tots on top.
Bake until the tots are fully cooked—I prefer mine as crunchy as possible!

An important part of this recipe is first baking the tater tots to their highest baking time so they’re extra crispy. Then you’ll mix the tots with your favorite wing sauce, some chopped rotisserie chicken and cheese. Serve with blue cheese dressing and more wing sauce!

Put some cooking spray at the bottom of a slow cooker, and start layering in your ingredients. Cook for three hours on high or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
