There are a few messy things that I don’t mind. I don’t mind my son's finger-painted food tray after he’s eaten his veggies. I don’t mind a brownie-battered countertop, knowing that warm chocolatey desserts will be enjoyed within minutes. And I definitely don’t mind having buttery and caramelized onion jam on my fingers and face if it means the chance to enjoy this sandwich. Onion jam holds a beautiful balance of sweet and savory. It may sound odd, but it’s become one of my absolute favorite sandwich ingredients. Pair it with turkey and cheese on ciabatta bread to create a warm treat when a quick lunch is needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices ciabatta bread
  • 2 slices Brie cheese
  • 3 slices Land O’Frost Premium turkey
  • Handful of spinach leaves
  • 1 tablespoon onion jam
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat panini press.
  2. Place slices of Brie on the one slice of bread, then top with turkey and spinach.
  3. Spread onion jam on the other slice of bread and place it on top of the other.
  4. Spread the butter on the outsides of the bread slices.
  5. Place in the panini press, and cook until cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, about 5 minutes.
  6. Enjoy while warm.
